KFC was launched in Tanzania in 2013. In October 2019, Dough Works acquired the KFC Brand with 4 restaurants. By December 2019 Dough Works built 2 new outlets at Julius Nyerere International Airport and Mikocheni Plaza. In less than a year, Dough Works has turned the business around, even winning a YUM! RoSSA Rising Star Award for positive growth despite the challenges brought by the pandemic. In the next year, there are plans to build 4 new restaurants across Tanzania, all of which will have a Drive-Thru feature.
With 6 Restaurants in Dar es Salaam and an average of 55,000 transactions per month, KFC is a loved brand and aspired to by many Tanzanians. DWL saw positive growth in the brand even during the pandemic and won a Yum! Global Award for the success.
